Robo call relief (I hope so)
The bad news; it won’t be up till next year. When next year is question top on my mind.
The caller identification system is supposed to verify callers accurately. Cute names STIR and SHAKEN, stand for Secure Telephony Identity Revisited and Secure Handling of Asserted information using toKENs.
It should stop robocallers who use fake caller-ID, especially the neighbor spoofing trick.
Well pardon me for not doing happy dance yet, but both ATT and Verizon and various developers have provided apps to try and do the job. The scammers go around the programming very quickly and get through.
This aims at blocking at system level, rather than at our phones. Fingers crossed.
(currently using Hiya on phones from AT&T and Verizon)
