Treated terribly at local AT&T store

Went into local AT&T store today to help my daughter resolve an issue. Encountered the rudest customer service representative ever. He was rude from the beginning. He knew we had an issue and walked up to our table ready “for a fight” sadly. I’m hoping there are cameras with sound! I asked the manager to step in and help as I couldn’t handle how rude the associate was. The manager (Gabe or Abe?) was helpful but allowed the other employee to continue to come to come to our table. He (not the manager) also smelled of alcohol and my daughter mentioned she smelled it on him the day she signed up for service. I simply said “Sir your being rude” he replied “your rude” …. he also continued to come by the table and provoke the situation after I asked to work with the manager and not him.
He was so rude I’m fearful of contacting the local store. He saw my drivers license… There is no way I’m the first person to have a problem so AT&T must allow this behavior at least this local store. I’m really not sure what to do but I can move on and simply pray for this man as he must have major issues going on in life but should I protect the next woman to have to encounter this guy?! I have been with AT&T for well over a decade and have never had any issues, no longer an AT&T fan after today!

File a BBB complaint. Might need to know first if it was an AT&T owned/operated store or an Authorized Retailer (3rd party that can sell their products and services).

What you describe is certainly a big issue. I would just not view him as an example of the entirety of AT&T. Unfortunately no company is immune from a bad employee (including perhaps their direct management), regardless if the employee/location is directly under the company or a 3rd party associated entity.

It’s also important to note I went to a diff location to try and correct the problem they assured me it was nothing to fix it would be easy but bc my daughter did a trade in for credit we would have to go to original location but to expedite the process go in and ask for Ashley the manager she would have to take care of the credit. I believe he assumed I was going around him but we weren’t at all. We didn’t care who helped with the issue but just went by what the other location told us. I believe this is why he approached our table “ready for a fight”

If she smelled it on him the day she signed up for service, why didn’t she just leave without signing up? Pretty clear red flag if you ask me.

Same awful disrespectful, ineffective and uncaring service. This is the second time, at the Bishop’s Corner Office. The woman- NYELA M. was positively disgusting in her demeanor and speech. I was moved to pay off my phone entirely and I’m switching to Mint Mobile. We’ve lived in this town for 30+ years and have continuously purchased our phones and laptops from this ( convenient to home) horrifying place. There were four employees on duty. All were conversing amongst themselves, looking at videos and laughing, on their cell phones, as per usual. I am so very sick of this and of AT&T for allowing it.
