What is the incentive for staying with this ATT&T?
I have been using AT&T since it was once Cingulair. And I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for. So I never mind paying a little more to get better service with you my plans. But now my two year contract is up. Like I have done in the past I want trade my phone up and sign up again. However I was told that now I can just trade my old galaxy s3 up and get a discount on something like a s5. I have to pay out right for it, and still sign another contract. I dont get why I would want to do that? Why would I wanna pay more when I already budget my phone bill for the past 2 years. The plan fine, the cycel of every two year I can upgrade my phone to the newest hottest device for max $200, has always had a charm. Why cant I do that anymore with out be penialized? I figure staying with the company means something. I just feel like just another faceless number.

someone is giving you wrong information. You have choices. You can get a subsidized upgrade which starts a new contract, or you can purchase with NEXT, in which you pay full price for the phone over 18 to 24 months. It does not start a new contract or you can pay full price up front.
Depending on what plan you are on would make a difference on which purchase option you should take.
If you are on the Mobile shared data plan of 10gb or more, it is cheaper in the long run to buy with NEXT. On the 10 gb or larger mobile shared data plans, you get a $25 per month discount for being out of contract, so purchasing NEXT saves money in the long run.

If your a single line customer and like your rate plan you can sign a new 2 year agreement. Now do you have unlimited data? That could be where the confusion is to.

I want what i did last time. renew my contract with no pay increase, then pay one flat discounted price for a new phone. Why do I wanna pay full price for a phone and why do I want an increase on my bill after two years?

Then you can walk into a ATT company owned store and get a new phone with a new 2 year contract.
next is not for everybody. But be warned the 2 year contract model is slowly dieing off so next time there may not be an option of a contract.

That is correct. No matter what you do your bill will go up. AT&T changed their plan structure so that if someone does the NEXT program or pays for their phone outright, they are not paying twice foe the phone. That is why with the plans <10GB you get a $15 discount and with the 10GB or greater you get $25 discount. They want people on the 10GB or greater that is why they give you the greater discount on those plans. If you want to get a phone under contract and pay less for the phone itself then you will pay more for the plan. If you pay more for the phone you shouldn't have to pay more for the plan too. Like someone said earlier if you have the <10GB plan you should just get the subside phone. If you had the 10GB or greater you should get the on the NEXT program or just buyout the phone. Also with the NEXT program you are able to upgrade either every 12 months or 18 months. So if you want to upgrade more often that is another plus for the NEXT program.

my goal is to save the most money with a slighty better android phone with s3. But I am not seeing either way. Not even if i go through a third party like best buy or target.
