AT&T Phone Advanced for My Residence
I’m debating whether to switch from my traditional AT&T home phone plan which is getting to be way too expensive ( 122.00 monthly) for phone only- no internet, etc. I like the peace of mine knowing of power failure I can make and receive calls especially if I can’t charge my cell phone. Are any residential customers that already have this new service plan willing to share experiences? please advise. Do you like it, regret switching, etc. if I choose the new plan and don’t like it can I get my old traditional land line service back.

Just so you are aware, Phone Advanced does NOT support voice mail.

It's a relatively new service you may not get any firsthand responses. As far as can you cancel if you don't like it would be a question for AT&T. Users manual I only found one topic on it and not much information there.

I have called several times to get this service and every time I call I am told it is not available in my area yet , call back in a week.

Do you know of anyone that actually has the service? If so have you received any feedback from them about the pros and cons. I know it’s cheaper but is it worth giving up the old / current landlines for cheaper? which isn’t always better. I want good service without worrying about limited battery backup power in case of a power failure.

In searching the Internet for reviews all I can find is for business, I can't find any residential reviews. The business reviews aren't good.

We had this service installed for my mom on Friday. It drops calls consistently. We have been talking to customer support every day and they can't seem to find any reason for this problem. Today I get to call and instruct them to remove it and reconnect her land land. I don't anticipate this to go very well.

Khouns00, thanks for sharing. I wish you luck getting the service you need and want. Please let us know if you are able to get your mom’s traditional land line back in her home.

We installed it February 13th and so far has worked flawlessly. We live in the boonies with very weak cell signals, but this is great. Had noises on our 40 year old copper wires, but this has no interference whatsoever.

So did you get the residential unit that's a wireless home phone service with a broadband backup, or did you get the business unit with the broadband phone service and the cellular backup? The reason I ask is because in the other topic you said it works fine with starlink plus saying you have a weak cell signal. Thanks for the information

We have the residential with a broadband backup via Starlink internet. changed old landline number to new setup and use the same existing phone with cordless remotes. As I said, noise interference which was very bad on landline is now eliminated.
