The manual found here doesn't differentiate between broadband types. I don't know if you call customer service they'd know anymore or not. There's very few topics on this and I can't find any customer reviews.
Near as I can tell this is a wireless home phone service with the option of broadband backup if cell service is lost. The way I'm reading the manual it can be used without the broadband connection.

In doing a bit of Internet searching this is one of the higher priced wireless home phone services. It's the only one with a broadband back-up that I find. Personally, I can't see why you'd need the broadband back-up, I've had a wireless home phone from a different carrier for a number of years with no issues and very good voice quality.
