ACP Program was never applied to my account after re-certifying

I was asked to re-certify for my ACP Program with AT&T back in December which I did and applied. I have confirmed with ACP and have in writing that I was already receiving ACP benefits with my new application for AT&T. Fast forward I am charged the original price and no benefits. I assumed it usually takes 1-2 billing cycles to apply which it did not. Another month goes on and I am once again overcharged. I contact AT&T support to which they NOW apply my benefits and say I will not be receiving a price adjustments for the 2 months I overpaid! They said there's nothing they can do about it as I have to contact ACP which I have already did and the AT&T representative kept saying she can't understand my problem. I was put on hold for over an hour and the whole time the representative kept repeating that she couldn't understand. Is there anyone I am able to contact regarding this issue? I was already approved for these two months and have been overpaying despite having ACP.

ATT gets the money directly from the ACP program to be applied to your account.  Apparently those funds were not received for whatever reason.

And an FYI:  The ACP program is winding down.  It is predicted that the funds will run out in April.  Plan accordingly.   https://www.fcc.gov/acp

I had the same issue. I re applied in late Dec of 2023 and customer support said ACP credit will be applied and I never saw it. I called Jan 2024, Feb 2024, each time they said it will be applied to my next bill. I just got off the phone with customer support and he stated there is nothing AT&T can do since ACP PROGRAM ends in April. My sister had the same issue with her ACP credit with AT&T. They kick you off of it for no reason

If AT&T isn't getting the funds from ACP, then there's nothing that AT&T can do. The money allocated by Congress is dwindling. Write your Congressman.

Well in my situation I’ve been charged for 3 months of service because the government ran out of funds in February and I was told that they wouldn’t until April now I have a 90 dollar past due payment and no way to pay it I could have came up with the 30 but don’t know how I’ll come up with 90. I should have received something telling me that the funds ran out the only one I received was saying April.

@Scottky  Complain to Congress because that's who's responsible for extending the funding for the ACP program, not AT&T or the other carriers affected. It would have been nice if AT&T had've notified every single customer who was using ACP that the funds have completely run out, and that the customer would be responsible for the new payments now but they didn't.

From an earlier post:

Without additional funding from Congress, the allotted $14.2b allotted to fund the ACP is projected to run out in April 2024 (estimated date). As a result, the FCC has begun to take steps to wind down the ACP. What that means is that:

  1. ACP applications and enrollments will not be accepted after Feb. 7th 2024 at 11:59pm ET.
  2. Households who have applied, been approved, and are receiving benefits will continue to doso until the funds run out as long as the household remains enrolled in the program.
  3. After the ACP funds run out (around April 2024), participating households will no longer receive the discounts.

This applies to all providers and carriers who participate in the ACP program. It is not specific to AT&T so there is very little they can do.

Yeah I understand what happened but if I’d been notified of it running out or received a bill I could have paid the 30 dollars no problem but i didn’t get no notification whatsoever they just let the bill run up 3 months where it’s 90 dollars and I have no way to come up with that at the moment so now I’ll loose my internet for good they will turn it over to a collection agency and so on. I’m nor complaining about the funding running out it wasn’t the government’s responsibility to notify me should have been my internet provider instead of sending one letter out saying that it was going to end in April.

Don't you check your bill every month for accuracy?
