AT&T Collection
Hello,
To my dismay I received a message today from a debt collector saying I owe AT&T $26. I closed my AT&T account 7 months ago and didn't know I had any sort of outstanding balance and was never contacted regarding any outstanding amount after account closure. I couldn't even access my billing account once it was closed if I wanted to. This is so upsetting to me. Over $26 I supposedly owe. I need you to please help me take this off my credit report, its just not ok, this could really hurt me and I have never missed a payment on anything.

We can point you in the right direction to discuss your collections inquiry, ericpretzer123.
You'll have to contact the Collections team directly by calling 800-947-5096. This is not something we'll be able to handle here in the forums.
If you need help with anything else, let us know.
Thank you for visiting the AT&T Community Forums.

I requested my account to be closed back on 2023. I was still making payments directly to Att and they send my account as delinquent to Parker and Associates Collection Agency. Now is showing on my credit report when my balance was paid off back in March 2024. AT&T won’t help me remove that negative information from my credit report TransUnion. I call Parker and they do not have any information. This is so illegal what they are doing when you have been taking my payments.

Making payments doesn't stop it going to collections. AT&T will not keep a past due going indefinitely. Once too long they send it to collections and that's it. Naturally they will not help you remove the info on the credit report as there was no error.
Nothing illegal about it. It just doesn't work the way you wanted it to.

@Kirk24
Since we don't know any details of your specific case no recommendation can be made here on the forum. If your situation is similar to the earlier posters there is no problem that needs a solution as it is just historical information on a credit report.
There is no way to just wipe the specifics off your credit report.
