Heads up! Your AT&T account still has a balance due.

Hi all,

I have AT&T Fiber and I just got an email saying I have a $5.03 balance due Nov. 5. The account number (last 4) in the email match my AT&T Fiber account number.

The email is legit but I have a $0 balance. I use AutoPay (last paid Oct. 23) and everything looks good no matter what method I use to try to pay / verify my balance.

Anyone else get this kind of email recently or in the past?

Any idea why I might be getting this?

I've considered trying to reach a live AT&T person but I'm pretty sure they'll just see what I see which is a $0 balance.

Thanks!

Funny you should mention this.  I just now got the same email, although it said I owed $74.99.  But that's not how much my monthly bill is.

An hour ago I got an email saying my payment had been posted for the correct amount and my account shows the balance as $0.

Chalking it up to yet another example of how the crack team of coders at AT&T work their magic.  🤦‍♂️

Right. The e-mails are coming from Salesforce servers. This looks bad not only on AT&T, but on Salesforce too.

The AT&T people are telling me it is a scam e-mail, and I shall report it as abuse to the fraud department. If it is true then AT&T had a massive data breach, which exposed personal data (account numbers, due dates, names, fact your are AT&T customer, etc.) to scammers. The "Heads up! Your AT&T account..."-email has all these details. I dunno AT&T wants to keep claiming the e-mails are scam.

AT&T "support" people have no clue.  We see that in here every time someone posts what they think might be a scam email.  The default mode for "support" is to call everything spam just to cover their butts and that usually ends up being correct just because of the odds.
