Is it possible to temporarily disable 5 GHz WiFi Band

I have a device I am having difficulty connecting to WiFi. Manufacturer info says device only works on 2.4 GHz band. Can I disable 5 GHz band temporarily so I can connect this device and re-enable afterward.

Yes.  Login to the gateway’s management console at 192.168.1.254, go to home network, wifi, advanced settings.  Make the change and save settings, ignore the warning.  Once your device is connected, restore settings and your device should retain its connection.

Be forewarned WiFi design in these gateways leaves a lot to be desired, so ultimately the endpoint for dealing with WiFi in Att Internet will involve obtaining a separate WiFi system.
