AT&T damaged my lawn, broke the water line, and broke the sprinkler line

In January 2024, AT&T damaged my lawn, broke the water line, and broke the sprinkler line when they laid down internet fiber in my neighborhood.

There was immediate water leaking, so they called the city came to fix the water line.

In late March, they came to repair the lawn. Then I was trying to water the lawn but only found out that the sprinkler line was also damaged. water leaks under the lawn. I hired someone to fix the problem and they found the sprinkler line was broken at two places, which was caused by the machine that drill channel under ground. I tried multiple time to call AT&T to file a claim, but only went to a voice mail to leave messages, and no calling back. How do I file a claim to get my money back for the cost of the repairing?

Procedure is as follows:

1. Call 800 288 2020 -> when prompted say tech support

2. You never know who you get on the phone and to have it done properly you might need to speak to supervisor. Though if you are frequent caller you should be connected to someone with wealth of experience to begin with who is equipped to handle this for you.

3. After explaining the issue customer rep will file a liability claim on your behalf.

4. Please be sure to ask for your Claim number and write it down.

5. These claims are handled by Sedgwick. You will have adjuster contact you within a week to collect all the necessary info including the pictures, invoices for repairs, etc.

6. Adjuster will then take over the process and at the end you should receive financial compensation for the damages to cover the cost of repairs.

7. Instead of waiting for adjuster to get in touch, you can go to https://login.mysedgwick.com/ and register as new user using the claim number provided. Claim number might include a dash and couple of digits at the end, if not able to register with full number try using only the first part preceding the dash.

8. I imagine those trenching machines can do quite a bit of damage and there isn't much to be found online about how to deal with this situation. If you don't mind posting updates so others can benefit from what to expect when going through the same ordeal that would be swell.

Thank you for the information. I actually successfully filed a claim through email. Let's see what's happening next.
