AT&T told me they were bringing Fiber to my Neighborhood, but instead they gave us AT&T Air.

We've been using AT&T at my current house since we bought it. The only service that is available to us is DSL (which is concerning since I live in a pretty well populated area) and we have been getting 9.8mbps for the past few years. After complaining about bad internet for the last 3 years, we were finally left a card on the door that informed us that AT&T would be putting in fiber. I watched them bury the cables in our backyard and so I thought that it was the end to our troubles. After waiting a few months and hearing nothing about an upgrade, I called AT&T only to find that we are only able to get AT&T Air now. Why would they leave that card and lay a pipe if they weren't actually installing fiber?

What is beyond you? A new or larger subdivision, cell tower, business park, etc?

Placing fiber in the ground is not the same as providing local addresses with fiber…

did they place any fiber pedestals or hand holes when going past your house? This is necessary as fiber connection would come from fiber terminal.

It is also possible that the fiber deployment for your area has not been completed yet, when checking other addresses both directions from your home can anyone order fiber service of 300 and greater?

By end 2025 ATT goal is 30+ million with direct fiber FTTP (50% of Uverse hardwired platforms) and 15 million (25%) on FTTCT (fiber to the cell tower) with 25% or another 15 million still on same connections had at beginning 2016 when the fiber expansion was started of 3 million per year average per year. End 2020 had 15 million, end 2025 30 million if a 3rd 5 year buildout happens (2026-2030) should upgrade that remaining 25%.
