Fiber just installed; where does the previous modem go to be returned?
Optical fiber installation finished and is working. Where do I take the previous ATT modem I was using?

You can return it at any UPS or FedEx Retail store. If you don't have one nearby you can call 1-800-288-2020 and request at USPS postage paid return label to be sent to you.
For UPS or FedEx you just need to return the modem and the power supply and provide your AT&T Billing Account Number (BAN). The agent will scan the serial number and print a shipping label and provide you with a receipt. KEEP the Receipt.
If it is a really old EOL modem they may not accept it and ask you to recycle / scrap it under your local recycling policy for electronics.
@my thoughts here in the SE the install techs have not taken an old Gateway for return in over a dozen years. The returns often got lost or just piled up in the local Garage and were never returned to clear the Equipment assignment to the BAN.

Was this an upgrade, have same BAN account with a tech installation, the tech should have taken the gateway.
If have a different BAN account, the original account should be canceled with returning equipment via FedEx or UPS.

@dave006 @A company called Genesis was handling the equipment stocking / returns of ATT garages in our area.
A return table was setup outside their office area, when their employee would come in, often around 6am to 7 am they would restock each techs locked material cabinet including parts orders and equipment use… handle the returns to a pallet which would be picked up by the next ATT box truck making deliveries to the garage.
orders approved on Fridays with new supplies normally following Wednesday… thus a weeks return of replacement went out on Wednesday.
