If you are referring to the home connection from the main fiber line, the cable is hand buried 6 inches below ground or machine buried. Minimal yard damage either way.

Hey @cdcasctelac,

We are here to help with your Fiber line installation inquiry. In general lines are buried a minimum of 12" to 24." Anything in the path of the line will have to be dug 12" - 24" and be covered up. It can take 3-4 weeks to get the lines buried after they have been laid out.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi ATTHelp;

See browndk26 comment on this subject, - indicating buried fiber about 6" below ground!

Can anyone clear this up?

Thanks to all!

I’m talking about the line to each individual home. Max is probably talking about the line running the length of the street that supplies service to every house. In the photo below, the large tan vault holds the main line. The smaller green vault is for two houses. What fiber line are you asking about?

Hey @cdcasctelac,

@Brownk26 is correct. From the hub to your home lines are generally buried between 6" - 12" deep. Main lines are buried 12" - 24."

Those boxes are most likely in an easement. And cannot be removed. A call to your local codes or getting a property diagram can confirm the easement.
