Fiber Optic In My Area

Hi we currently have Spectrum internet and it (Edited per community guidelines). We work and live in Moraine, Ohio as we own our business. We were hoping to get Fiber Optic but it is not available in our area. Can you please let me know how we can get it in our area?

Thanks,

Beth

You’re going to have to wait in line like the rest of us plebes if and when it ever comes to pass.

You either go with a company that has fiber to your address, wait for when/if any local ISP runs fiber to your place, or move where fiber already exists. Those are the options to get fiber.

Does ATT offer any hardwired internet to your address?

If yes, what speed tier?
Zip code?

Morraine Ohio has (4) different zip codes…

In 45342, ATT offers hardwired service IPBB (Uverse platform) and fiber to 90% of addresses.

In 45417, both IPBB or Fiber is available to 70% of addresses.

In 45439, ATT offers IPBB or Fiber to 80% of addresses.

In 45449, ATT offers IPBB or Fiber to 94% of addresses.

Thus no zip code has even 100% ATT coverage, and currently the overage fiber average within 21 state footprint is around 25 million out of 60+ million hardwired addresses or around 42% with goal of 50% coverage within footprint (not zip code) by end 2025. Some zip codes are 80+% fiber while others are less than 20%.

If ATT does not currently offer any hardwired internet I would not expect those addresses to be added.

Therefore if FTTP (fiber to the premise) is not available, may wish to consider fiber to the cell tower… a 5G FWA product similar to 5G home internet offers from T-Mobile and Verizon.
