ONT port looks like a Ethernet port? Is this for the fiber cable?

ONT port looks like a Ethernet port?  

The Fiber coming into my house  looks like a very thin cable with a long metal end to it. 

AT&T sent me a replacement gateway which seem to be an older version. 

It does not look like the wires can fit in that port without maybe some kind of adapter. 

I think ATT may have sent me equipment not compatible with how the fiber is coming into my house.

So you have a wall plate and a BGW320 that should look like the pics below.

What did they send, the black BGW210?  If so, yeah that won't work.  The ONT port is red and it's designed to use an Ethernet cable to an external ONT.
Is this replacement because something is wrong with the BGW320?
