Top Streaming Services Keep Buffering

I just upgraded from Spectrum 300mb modem service to AT&T Fiber 1GB. Certainly speed test to AT&Ts own server is going to show fast speeds. If AT&T co-locates with the major streaming services such as Netflix there should be little buffering from those services. But my streaming services are all worse than with my 300MB Spectrum service.

The computer I am using is a high end i7 with 64GB RAM and SSDs and NVIDIA GTX 1080ti graphics. So the system is very fast and it is wired to the router, not wireless.

I have restarted the router a couple of times but this does not seem to help.

Any ideas appreciated.

Hey @wbpo5l,

That's not the welcome you deserve, so let us turn this around!

Are you only having issues with streaming services? Have you ran a speed test? Have you tried using our Troubleshoot and Resolve tool?

We look forward to assisting!

I use YouTube, Sling, Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video and they all stop playing and buffer often. This rarely happen with my Spectrum modem.

My computer is direct wired (Ethernet) to the AT&T router, not thru WiFi. So it is not the WiFi signal. The computer I'm using is a high end water cooled gaming system that I had built. It is the latest i7 processor with SDD drives and I think 64 or 128GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GTX1080ti graphics card running the latest Windows 10.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the business so I'm familiar with what the experience should be with a 1GB fiber service.

Thanks,

Barrett Powell
