Upcoming Fiber Install and removing old pots line

Good day, We recently ordered fiber internet and I was wondering if the AT&T will or can we request for them to remove the old pots line and network box when they come over to do the installation? The old phone line comes off of a pole in the backyard overhead (Not buried underground) and attaches to the house. The house hasn't had phone service in probably 10 years or more and no current fiber line.

Just for reference, I called 1-800-288-2020 and spoke to lady whom put my request in to have the copper line removed since we have a tech scheduled to install a fiber line for AT&T internet service.

She confirmed my information, gave me a ticket number, and a direct line to call the local repair center if I had any questions. She also told me to take pictures of the line to be removed and email them so they can verify that the line to be removed is an AT&T line.

Update: I found a previous post from AT&T where they said to call the support team at 800-288-2020 and let them know that you have a overhead line that is down and request to have it removed. I'm going to do that since the line is no longer in use and it does hang down a little too low.

Thanks Jennifer!

I'm going to call tomorrow to inquire about having the old overhead copper phone line and network box removed since it is no longer used and will be phased out eventually.

We're set to have fiber internet installed in the next couple of weeks to replace our current cable internet service.
