AT&T Telephone Pole Relocation

I'm building a new house, and there is an AT&T telephone pole in my new front yard.  How can I go about getting AT&T to relocate that pole?

  • Utility Pole Relocation

keep in mind you will be responsible financially to move the pole and thats still not a guarantee they will be able to relocate it

I'm confused.  Is this not AT&T?  You are listed as an employee, but you did not answer my question.  I am asking how to get the pole moved, and all you did was tell me that I may be responsible financially and they may not move it.  Who do I need to speak with to get an answer to my question?  Let me ask another, possible better question:  Could I please get the contact phone number for the Pole Relocation department?  Thank you!

@lcraigjones   no this isnt at&t this is a customer forum  and i represent at&t in no official capacity when posting here 1-800-288-2020 is the number to call and tell them what you need done they should transfer you to the correct dept, attcares may see this post but with the workload they are facing it could be awhile.you may also search the forums using pole removal or relocation as key words then look for any posts that have a green check mark, this means there was a solution to the topic and you may find a direct number that way.

Ah.  Well.  No thank you.  As a long time AT&T customer paying between $400 and $500 per month for total services, I should not have to sneak in the side door or go in the back door.  ...  I did not realize this was NOT AT&T.  It popped up when googling how to get in touch with AT&T for pole relocation.  I will now call the 800 number, although there are so many numbers and so many departments that can never help and always direct me somewhere else...which turns out to be the wrong department for the tenth time.  ....  and now, away I go on another, probable unsuccessful quest for help.

Do you know if att actually owns the pole? It could be an electric company pole. Try your local public works department or codes department. They may have local contacts. If you have been building a new house, did you inquire when getting the building permit about the pole? Is it affecting the building of the house or do you just not want it there?

Hi, Professor Brown.  Yes, it's an AT&T pole. The only wire on that pole is AT&T (running to only 2 out of 5 homes which still have land lines down our lane). The AT&T line and pole have been there for many years. Our electric lines are completely separate. And as far as a building permit, none is required. This is a 300 acre private family farm; permits are not required for building a house on anything over 10 acres. And no, the building of the house is not affecting by the pole. The pole is just an eyesore and I'd like it moved to outside the "yard" area. Please don't ask, "Why with 300 acres did you build the house where the pole sits". lol. The answer would be because it's the most beautiful spot, sans the pole. And yes, I realize that I may have to pay to have the pole moved, but making contact with a department that can answer questions and/or help was the reason behind sending my original message on this "forum"...which I mistook for an AT&T website. Have a good day, Professor!

@lcraigjones   You might want to post your question on the Contruction and Engineering Assistance board.

@lcraigjones  It sounds like that pole needs to be “accidentally” knocked down. 🙂
