billed for service i don't have

i cancelled my extended wi-fi coverage back in December, but i keep getting billed for it every month.  i call the 800 support number and have no problem getting the $10 charge refunded on my current bill.  but then next month, the charge shows up again.  what do i have to do to get this charge removed permanently from my account?

If you have Smart Home Manager, you can try cancelling from the app. Log in go to your profile, then my account and then under my internet services you would see the booster service if you click on it it brings you the option to cancel.

Smart Home Manager does not list the booster service.  like i said, i cancelled that service in December.  even got an email confirmation that the service had been cancelled.  but i continue to be billed for it.  last time i talked to the 800 support personnel, they specifically told me that the service was no longer on my account and i would not be billed for it again.  and yet it still showed up on my current bill which i just received.

@lhitetx1 from my understanding you aren't the only one with this issue and if the service isn't showing up either on your account or in SHM, then its some mishap on the billing side, their tn is 877 999 1083/877 999 1085.

thanks, but those 877 numbers ask me for what service i'm calling about, and when i respond at&t internet i'm told to call the 800-288-2020 number that i've been calling for the last three months.  called that again, had to fight my way past the bot -- at least before it was fairly easy to get past the bot to a human, but they've made that a much higher hurdle.  anyway, finally talked to a human (i think anyway) and supposedly the problem is resolved.  we'll see in a month.

interestingly i had pretty much this exact type problem with DirecTV Stream last year.  they were billing me for a device which i never even had.  took me six months of calling to finally get that error fixed.

Either number just keep saying billing question so the routing hopefully gets you through. Or cancel service as that will get you to retention to handle it.

and surprise, surprise -- just got my April bill and the extended wi-fi service is STILL on my bill.  it's 2024 and a billion dollar corporation has a billing system that's probably written in COBOL.

anyway, this time i was able to get thru to the 877 number that receding_hairline suggested (thank you!), and sounds like we may have made some progress.  we'll see in another month.
