Experiencing packet loss
Hi,
For the last week I’ve been experiencing a large amount of packet lost with my Fiber. This causes extreme lagging and disconnects with video games. Anyone have advice on troubleshooting this issue?

Hey, after reading the post you provided, here are the results of two traceroute I ran. The first one is to World of Warcraft central NA server a and the second to League of Legends NA server. In both, you can see a very high latency time on hop 8 for WoW and hop 9 for LoL. I'm not sure what is causing this issue but it is causing disconnects from Video Chat clients and Online video games or brief periods of lag when the connection doesn't drop.

Thanks for lettings u know, @Bboyswift.
The best solution to packet loss and latency when accessing online games and applications is to open the ports in your Gateway's firewall. This will prevent any delay between the packets coming into your firewall, which should cut down on the packets dropping and the time it takes for the connection to reach your device.
For more information on which ports to open, please reach out to the developers of the game/software you are looking to open.
We hope this helps.

Hi There @Bboyswift,
We are so sorry that the link did not work for you. Let's try again shall we?
Looks like what you need is to do some port forwarding on your AT&T router. Depending on what router that you have you can use this article: Port Forwarding to open the ports needed to prevent latency and high ping times with in your games. You do need to contact the respective gaming support and they should provide you with the correct ports.
If you need anything else, please reach back out to use.

Hey there,
I have enabled port forwarding that you requested and still see latency issues. Do you have other suggestions?
Even running a tracert to att.com shows large rtt, please correct me if I'm wrong about the following:

@Bboyswift
Since port forwarding didn't resolve the packet loss, we recommend getting in touch with the team at our paid service, ConnecTech for more thorough assistance.
Thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums.
