Extra charges on my DSL bill
AT&T over charges me on nearly every single bill for my DSL service. This requires me to call customer service every month & while the customer sevice has always been bad, it seems to be getting worse all the time. I will always have to wait 45 minutes to an hour to reach anyone. When I do finally reach an actual representitive, it will inevitably be the wrong department. My calls are often dropped & nobody calls me back. Every person I've ever talked to says that my problems with excess & unwarranted charges will be fixed this time but they never are. I've been dealing with this issue for years & have documented literally DAYS of my time wasted on these calls. My question is: Is AT&T INTENTIONALLY sabatoging my service in order to encourage my to drop my DSL service? I know that they don't want to provide DSL service any more, but it is the ONLY high speed internet service available in my area.

AT&T hits me with extra "service charges" on my DSL bill nearly every single month! The claim that they are overage fees, then they admit that they are not & offer to "adjust" my bill to what it;s supposed to be. My question is: Is AT&T intentionally adding these charges every month to aggrivate me & pressure me into cancelling my DSL service because they don't want to continue to support it? Also are the closing my forum threads regarding this issue because I'm willing to bet that all the DSL customers are having the same issues.

You state DSL but do not say what type of DSL…
LEGACY DSL has best speed of 6, lower on longer copper, a 150G data cap, overage charges of $10/50G up to $200 per month.
Uverse ADSL2+ has best speed of 18 or lower based upon copper loop length, a 1.5T data cap, overage charges of $10/50G up to $100 per month.
UVERSE FTTN is VDSL and had option of Uverse IPTV service. Same 1.5T data cap and overage charges as ADSL2+ but has the option of unlimited data for extra $30 per month or unlimited if bundled with Uverse IPTV or DirecTv.
As of end 2015….
FTTN option was available to 33 million address
ADSL2+ option was available to 24 million addresses
Legacy DSL (rural, semi rural not upgraded to Uverse platform) 15+ million

Well for starters, you are definitely in the wrong department. And you chose the wrong department. Wireless is cell phones. DSL is internet.
Will move asap...
AT&T is being forced to replace DSL. Forced by the federal or state governments.
If you want to keep it, you can until they run fiber from AT&T in your neighborhood.
Now when was the last time you actually read your bill And usage report. Your usage report tells you how much data you use every month. If you are using over a terabyte of data which is 1,024 gigs, you are legitimately being charged for overage. Most service providers charge overage. Or you can ask them how to upgrade to unlimited if you are going over every single month.

What exactly does the bill say the charges are for? And how much $ ?
