Gateway not working

appointment scheduled for service June 8 12-4 pm. explained to "customer service" (call center) that the gateway was not working. they scheduled technician appointment( which i had already scheduled online). After putting my day on hold waiting for ATT tech, the tech was running behind. Call to "customer service". they stated that there was outage in my area and that was the issue. so now my new appointment 6-15 8am-noon is on hold due to outage. well guess what i still do not have a gateway modem that works before or after the area outage. I need help on how to get around "customer service" and get the new gateway

There is none, you cannot activate a gateway during an outage, tech or no tech.

Why do you believe there is an issue with the gateway requiring replacement?

Model? Description of issue?

In my experience 90% of times the issue is not the gateway, most often poor wiring either inside or outside of residence if having trouble with gateway staying connected to service. If issue is with wireless service to device(s), purchasing a mesh system is best solution in my opinion.
