How can I change my Service Address on my Account?

I had internet several years back with AT&T at another address. I have had wireless the whole time with them as well. I signed up for new internet access with AT&T at the new address but the Service Address shows the old address. The Billing Address is correct with the new address.

I wanted to add another service like VoIP to my new service but they couldn't do it due to the Service Address field being incorrect and no way to actually change it other than to fill out the "I am moving" stuff.

We recommend that you try the following steps:

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile. Sign in. 
  2. Scroll to My linked accounts and choose Edit for your Address.
  3. Follow the prompts to make your updates.
  4. Check your email inbox to verify your email address. Make sure you check your spam or junk folder.

However, if you have wireless service, we may also send you a verification code or temporary PIN to confirm your changes.

That is only for the Billling Address. There is no Edit button beside Service Address. There is only "Plan your move".

I spoke with someone in support and apparently this is a bug in your system and the easiest way I can fix this is to create a new account for the Internet and turn the Internet off and then back on under the other account. Apparently, I found the perfect storm to mess up an account and here is how it was done:

1. Have existing wireless

2. Have internet at an address and cancel it when you move but don't change your Service Address since you aren't using AT&T at the new location.

3. Sign up years later for Internet on your existing account in an AT&T store for the new address which is the Billing Address (but the wrong Service Address)

4. Have the sales person just manually type in your install address on the order

5. Try to transfer a VoIP number from another carrier to AT&T (You can't and it will fail in their system)

6. Create a new account for Internet and risk losing the discount you got for having 8 wireless lines with your Internet.

I have the exact same issue.  I contacted customer support by phone and they did not have visibility to the Service Address in their system.  Is there a resolution for this?
