Just got AT&T internet, but my PS4 sign-in failed. How do I fix this?

I just had the AT&T guy and the DIRECTV guy over here a copulent of days ago. My PS4 was successful in obtaining an IP address, successful in establishing an internet connection, but the “PlayStation Network Sign-In” failed. I’ve reset both the router and the PS4 multiple times. Please help!

Good evening @mkilgas We hope you have had a great day so far! Thank you so much for sharing that information with us, we are really glad to hear that the PS4 was successful in obtaining an IP address and also establishing the internet connection. Please let us share with you that in this case the issue with the PlayStation Network Sign-in is directly with the Play Station servers and not related with At&t, so what we kindly recommend you is to contact with PlayStation to get the most accurate information and resolution.

Thank you very much for contacting us! We hope you to have a wonderful night!

Turns out, it was user-error.  I hadn't played my PS4 in a long time, and I needed to update the software.  All is good now.
