Long time AT&T DSL user moving Likely loosing AT&T DSL Can email accounts be saved kept active?
I currently have AT&T phone and DSL service at my home, have had the number for almost 30 years and the DSL at this address for over 10 years. I am moving a short distance to a different home. In attempting to move the service I am told that they will not move the DSL to the new location. This move would keep the same number that I have had for almost 30 years. The number has always been less than 2 miles from the CO switch and has been and will still be served out of the same CO switch. They are pushing me towards U-verse. I have 3 email account addresses that go all the way back to sbcglobal.net and really need to keep them active at least in the near term. I have been trying to get information regarding the future of these addresses and if these will die immediately upon the termination of the DSL account and have gotten various and different answers from each person I have spoken with at AT&T as well as different answers through research on line.
Will these email accounts go away or is there a way to keep them active and able to be used?
I would readily pay a reasonable amount each month to keep them active if this is possible.
PLEASE HELP.

When you migrate to U-verse, the email addresses will not go away. They will automatically become free emails.
You can even use the primary email address as the member ID or primary user ID for your U-verse.

OK, Will they still have phone customer service, sub accounts, etc?
Will you still be able create and/or modify the accounts, passwords, etc?
This is where I really start getting conflicting information.
I never get the same answers from 2 different people at AT&T.

Hello @jpbjr1955
When you get U-verse you can re-register your current email address to use with that service and it will keep them as active. Even in the event that something prevented you from re-registering your current ID (this is usually from lack of knowledge from the install techs), but then your old ID would become a free ID and still useable.
Also, if you run in to any issues getting U-verse, then shoot me a message and let me know. I can help.
