Was my email hacked?

I've used an sbcglobal.net email for 14 years. Just this week, I am unable to sign in and when I attempt to reset my password, it says that my email ID is not in the system. On all devices, I have been signed out and am unable to log in. Was my email discontinued when sbcglobal switched over? I have not changed my password in 14 years either and am wondering if my account was compromised. Any help would be so appreciated. I am now living overseas and my ATT phone number is no longer in use.

Hello again @hannahallyse

Visit our Postmaster website to see what we can do to get you signed back in to your email. If they're unable to help, you'll need to have your parents get in touch with us so we can take a look at the account and see what caused this.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your time and for sending me this help page.
*Unfortunately,
the link was not helpful*, as the troubleshooting steps mention an SSL
Certificate mismatch error notice, which I did not receive, or the option
to re-set password, which I am unable to do, since my account is not being
recognized. Every time I attempt to sign in or even change my password, it
says that my name and ID are not recognized.

I heard that some sbcglobal emails were "locked" and people had to call to
unlock them, yet their information was not restored. I currently live
overseas in Korea and am unable to call conveniently to get personal help
over the phone. My email has international visa information, student loan
info, and other info stored there. Is there hope for a restoration of
information? If not, is there a way to shut down my account?

Thank you for your time.

Hannah

Hello @hannahallyse

Was your email account merged with your AT&T account?

It may have been linked to my parents account. I've my sbcglobal.net email
for 14 years, ever since I lived with my parents growing up. Now I no
longer have an ATT phone since moving overseas and don't have Uverse like
my parents. I don't have a customer ID, Uverse account, or US phone number.
