A FAQ for the All-Fi Hub error codes may be found here

https://www.att.com/support/article/internet/000092832

E004 seems to indicate that your Gateway failed to receive an IP address via DHCP from the Network.  The suggestion is to move the device to a higher floor or closer to a window.

Hey @drolan7, we’re here to walk you through the right path.

Error E004 : No IP address from network

Tips to fix:

  • Restart your All-Fi Hub: Press and release the reset button or unplug your hub and then plug it back in. The restart may take up to five minutes. When the notification light turns off and the clock appears, you’re good to go.
  • Reset your hub to factory settings: Press the reset button for 10 seconds. The reset may take up to 10 minutes. When the notification light turns off and the clock appears, you’re good to go.

We recommend you to speak with our AT&T Internet air customer service team, please contact us at 800.288.2020. They are available 10am-7pm central, 7 days a week.

Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance.

Is it normal to see E004 on a daily basis?  Does this mean the signal from the tower is weak and if so how do I check it?

That's exactly what I'm afraid of.  I have no higher place (it's 6' up next to a window).  I get 1-3 bars on my ATT phone right next to it.  It has only been in operation since Friday when I first saw an E004 error, and decided to leave it until the morning.  When I came back to it, it was showing the clock but now I'm getting the E004 errors.  Is there a way to see how many bars or RSRP quality the ATT Air hub is getting?

I should add that we tried this unit out in July.  Allegedly the tower wasn't functional yet (I tried activating at the base of the tower) and we ended up returning it.

Now, it is February and there are no leaves on the trees (I have a forest between me and the tower) and I'm worried that this might work today but not in another month when the leaves come back.

That's why signal quality is important to me here.

I have been getting this code on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day. AT&T has sent me a replacement box and it only worked for a couple hours before doing the same thing. When I went to reset my new hub, it just got stuck flashing AT&T and never restarted. This service is a complete joke. I can literally see the tower from my window.
