Super Frustrated with ATT Internet Air Bundled Discount

AT&T has really disappointed me with the Internet Air billing.  I had Internet 50 for years which was great, but AT&T relentlessly advertised Internet Air as a great solution, so I decided to switch to it in November 2023.  At the time I was told, by being an AT&T Wireless customer, I'd be eligible for a continuation of the $20/month bundled wireless / internet 50 discount like I had.

Well, it turns out there is some poorly written stipulation somewhere that this is only applicable to customers that did NOT migrate their service over from another ATT internet offering e.g. Internet 50 in my case.

I spoke with a supervisor on February 10th and was advised of that condition to which I replied that's not what I was told when I signed up etc. so the gentleman at the time said they understood the situation and would make sure the bundled discount would be applied on my next billing cycle.   Well guess what, that did NOT happen.  I spoke with another supervisor today and they just reverted back to the default ineligibility statement because of me being a 'migrated' customer.

Super infuriating given that is not explicitly stated in the bundle offer i.e. below other than the nebulous 'other conditions may apply'

AT&T INTERNET AIR OFFER: Residential customers only.  If service is canceled, must return AT&T All-Fi Hub to AT&T within 21 days or be subject to a $275 non-return equipment fee. Equipment non-return fee will be refunded if residential gateway is returned within 6 months of cancellationAutopay & Paperless Bill: Paperless billing requires a valid email address.  $5/mo Autopay discount starts w/in 2 bill cycles. Pay full plan cost until discount starts. Taxes & Fees:  Monthly cost recovery charge which is not government-required applies in TX, OH and NV. Taxes also apply.  For one time AT&T transactional fees, see www.att.com/fees for details. Service subj. to Internet Terms of Service at att.com/internet-terms.  Other restrictions apply & may result in service termination. Pricing subj to change.

DATA LIMITATIONS:  For all data usage, AT&T may temporarily slow data speeds if the network is busy. Service may be slowed, suspended, terminated, or restricted for misuse, abnormal use, interference with our network or ability to provide quality service to others.

Offers may be modified, or discontinued, at any time without notice. Other conditions may apply to all offers.

I guess the lesson of the day is buyer beware!

Right because engaging with AT&T Customer Service yields no positive result whatsoever.  AT&T pushed this Internet Air service and I fell for it.  It costs more per month, has a super variable bitrate (because yeah wireless), DNS E0013 error states a few times a month, and IP Geolocation issues all the time.

Wish I would have never got rid of my rock solid Internet 50 VDSL service

Here again with another ATT scam after a long time.

First question, I have no idea (Edited per community guidelines) is "Migrated Customer" means.

Second, I have a wireless account in my name and I went to the store to add 2 more lines to that. ATT rep. asked me what internet I am using at home. I was on internet25 in my wife's name as a separate account. He told me since I don't have any home internet on my account I am eligible for a $20 discount for air internet. Which is half price and 10x faster. I was convinced easily. I got my first bill right after I was assigned, that's another question. Isn't the first bill supposed to be at the end of the billing cycle?

Guess how much is the first bill? $55. No discount is applied. Thats the same price as my previous internet package. Why did I switch to the air internet?

Basically what they’re looking for are new customers to get them to switch from where they are to Att in this case.  All of these companies employ the same tactics and no one is beyond reproach.  Caveat emptor.
Also for those would be migrated customers, understand the Air service is not functionally equivalent to DSL due to use of CGNAT.

I went to a att store. They applied $20 credit to my “wireless” account not to my air internet account.  weird but fair enough. I am the one who is paying both.  I am told that i will keep getting $20 discount until i see has $20 discount on my air internet bill. That may take a couple months, they said.

I received my second bill. The second bill was $35. Also -20 extra discount for the first month. I end up getting $20 on my wireless account from the store. I appreciate it.
