ATT INternet Air->TPLink Home Router with dynamic dns and port forwarding
Just received my ATT internet air device (GOOSE Egg). Now the problem with a litttle backstory....
Old system was a cable modem connected to TP link home router. In that router I am using NO-IP for IP resolving (Dynamic Dns), I am also port forwarding so I am able to connect to my custom industrial home automation. This system works.
Last night after recieving my GOOSE egg I thought it would be a simple disconnect the existing cable modem, and plug the TP Link router into the WAN port of the GOOSE egg. Everything seemed to work except for accessing my automation system from outside of my local network. I believe I've created a Double NAT situation here. Is there a way around this issue.... IP passthrough? Bridge mode? Thanks for any help

The first problem you're going to experience here with AIA (AT&T Internet Air) is that I think you'll find that your WAN IP on the Gateway is in the Private 10.0.0.0/8 IP space that AT&T has reserved for CGNAT. Meaning you don't really have a Public IP address and there's no way for traffic to get to you to make Port Forwarding useful. You've likely got triple NAT going on now: Your router, the All-Fi Hub (though I think I like your "Goose Egg" name better), and the AT&T CGNAT gateway.
If you were on a Fiber/VDSL2/ADSL2+ Gateway, I'd tell you to setup IP Passthrough, but I'm figuring that screen won't show up in the All-Fi Hub firmware.

None of us ACEs have AIA. Can you look for anything that looks like a setting for IP Passthrough?

I really don't have anything for you if you need to reach your network through AIA from the Internet.

I am using ip pass through mode and the 66 IP address is now assigned to my TP-Link ER605. I have not attempted outside access though as I’m probably sending mine back since it stinks with my work VPN setup.

And IP pass through is in the advanced settings under firewall. You will need the code from the back of the egg to access/change.

@Eyball1972 , for clarification, you were able to find IP Passthrough in the settings for your All-Fi Hub? And your Public IP address in the 66.x.x.x.x range shows up on the WAN interface of your TP-Link?

Correct but I’m not sure if it’s reachable from outside. I tried pinging from my phone while on 5G and it timed out.
If you are connected to the gateways WiFi or direct to a port on the back, just go to 192.168.1.254 and it should load the settings page. Go under firewall. It’s pretty easy to setup. I did have to restart the gateway a couple times to push that 66 IP to my TP-Link router.

That's interesting. I do not have AIA, which makes it really hard for me to give good, clear and reliable guidance for AIA customers. I only know what I've been told by AT&T and other customers and they don't always give clear, accurate or reliable information in all cases.
