Local settings?

Is there a way to update the settings to my locality?  I’m not able to stream Netflix or my local news stations because it’s set to Alabama not Pennsylvania.

Hello @dvdmbln,

Thanks for reaching out to us! Let’s work on a fix and find out what's causing this!

Here is what you can try to fix this error:

  1. Clear cache (previously collected information). Browsers and apps typically collect information about your connection, which might prevent you from smoothly watching Netflix.
  2. Are you using a VPN server if you are then Try other VPN servers.
  3. If this issue occurs with Netflix on a gaming console or a smart TV, restart your device.
  4. Do a DNS leak test.
  5. If you are using the Netflix app for streaming, try the Netflix website instead.

We hope this helps!

Hello @dvdmbln,

Thanks for reaching out to us! We hear you and are happy to guide you.

If you are using a VPN then anything that is connected will have an impact! We recommend that you try other VPN servers to see a change in your concern!

Still waiting for a solution?  Calling the 800 number doesn’t help.

I'm sorry that ATThelp didn't give a correct and clear answer.

AT&T Internet Air uses the AT&T Wireless networking infrastructure.  Thus there is no stable IPv4 assigned to your device for which IP Geolocation services can assign a relevant location.  It's exactly like asking where a cell phone is located based solely on its network address. You can wait as many months as you want, but this isn't going to get any better.

IP Geolocation is stupid to begin with.

There might be a Smartdns service that could overcome the CGNAT deficiency.  Or just find a local DNS you can use to override what’s provided by Att.  It would need to setup for each device.
