Battery Backup Unit (UPS) For The Arris BGW 210-700 Residential Gateway
I've looked high & low and can't seem to find the AT&T recommended battery backup unit (UPS) for an Arris BGW 210-700 Residential Gateway. It's going to take a standalone unit since this modem does not have an internal bay for a backup battery like all its predecessors did. If someone could just provide me with a link to the proper AT&T page where they have a chart of recommended UPSes for this particular unit I would appreciate it. I would like to stick with the APC brand if at all possible. I am also looking for the "official" AT&T User's Manual (not the "generic" FCC version) for the Arris BGW 210-700 modem as well. Thanks!

I just received this modem and realized that my Belkin battery backup has no way to connect to the modem. I called AT&T and they told me that for the Arris BGW210 modem I needed to purchase an internal battery backup and that I could install it. Does anyone know which battery I should purchase and a link for that battery. I was told that the battery runs from $10-$30.

From all I've been able to discover the Arris BGW210 does not have an internal bay for a backup battery, unlike some of their previous models which did. Apparently you have to buy an external UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) the same as you would for a computer. In my opinion APC (American Power Conversion) make the best units. Hope that helps...

This does not seem to exist. I spoke to ATT (run around, no help) who sent me to Belkin (who claims they no longer make batter backups), then Arris who does not have BGW210-700 as one of their models. Pretty crappy service from ATT and their way out of it is saying they no longer provide batter backups. Google Fiber looking better all the time.

Verify the voltage and polarity and cut off the plugs on the Belkin BBU and the power brick, swap them and splice the barrel connector for the BGW onto the cord coming out of the BBU.

Wha.....you do NOT need to have APC/Belkin specifically branded UPS, they're being paid to have those listed. I've been using CyberPower for years and have never had issues (450VA, 800VA, 1350VA AVR). Currently my SBW210 sits on a 450VA CyberPower along with my Orbi. Lasted almost an hour recently after went out during the hurricane.

Will this battery handle the phone fiber system that is plugged into the BGW210? I really need a battery backup for the ATT phone connected to the modem?

ATT recommends several APC backups at the link skeeterintexas provided above.
The CP12142LI comes with a plug to supply 12V directly to the BGW210-700 Residential Gateway.
Since it uses a lithium battery it is half the size, one quarter the weight, and lasts 2 1/2 times as long as the Belkin Rev B.
It currently sells for $95 on Amazon.
