Fire TV won't stay connected at 5GHz?

Hello! I have AT&T Fiber 100 and a dual band Pace PLC modem/router. My Fire TV won't stay connected at 5GHz. If I go in to the modem/router home page and rescan the 5GHz channel selection, my Fire TV will pick up a 5GHz connection for a bit, but then it drops back down to 2.4GHz. Is there a problem with my modem/router?

Thanks!

Could the TV be too far from the gateway? 5ghz doesn't have as much range as 2.4ghz. It could also be some other electronics interfering with the 5ghz signal. If it works on 2.4ghz, just leave it there.

Actually, they're across the room from each other, but the gateway was sitting next to a big 'ol (metal) battery backup UPS. I moved the gateway down the counter a bit, and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for your input!
