Hi @mnjnamatka! We completely understand your concern regarding setting up your camras on a router, and would like to help. Let's get the assistance you require.

Please try Configuring IP Passthrough and DMZplus.

You can also try Configuring Default Server Allocation Mode,

  1. Open a browser on a computer that is directly connected to the RG.
  2. In the address bar, enter http://192.168.1.254.
  3. Select the Firewall tab in the RG GUI page.
  4. Select IP Passthrough below the Firewall tab.
  5. Enter the Device Access Code if prompted.
  6. Select the Default Server option from the Allocation Mode drop-down menu.
  7. Enter the IP address of the Device to be set as the default server in the Default Server Internal Address field.
  8. Select Save. A re-starting gateway reminder message appears.
  9. Select Restart Now to complete the setting change.

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks for writing back to us @mnjnamatka.

We understand your concern. Let's point you in the right direction.

If you’re accessing the cameras remotely, try setting up port forwarding. This allows external access to the cameras.

If that doesnt work. It looks like you may need more account specific support.  To assist you best, we encourage you to review our Contact Us page (https://www.att.com/support/contact-us/) to identify what method you’d prefer to reach out for this account level help.  You can call, chat, or reach out via social media and we can review your specific issue and provide you support.  We’re sorry we weren’t able to resolve your concern directly in the forums, but let us know if we can assist with anything else.

Thank you.
David, AT&T Community Specialist.

I would not use the Default Server mode.  I'm not sure where ATThelp got that idea.  So, I would check that IP Passthrough is setup correct (and not in Default Server mode) by verifying that the router's WAN address is something other than 192.168.1.x.  If not, then here are my instructions for setting up IP Passthrough to your router behind the AT&T Gateway:

  1. Ensure that your router's LAN is set up on a different IP subnet than the Gateway
  2. Connect the WAN port of your router to a LAN port of the Gateway (probably avoiding port 1)
  3. Connect some device with a browser to a LAN port of the Gateway (probably avoiding port 1)
  4. use that browser to go to http://192.168.1.254
  5. Go to Firewall > IP Passthrough, enter the password from the sticker on the side of the Gateway when prompted
  6. Select "Passthrough" for Allocation Mode
  7. Set "Fixed" for Passthrough Mode
  8. Select your router in the drop down for the MAC address
  9. Hit Save
  10. Power off your Gateway and Router
  11. Power on the Gateway after 30 seconds
  12. Power on the Router after 5 minutes
  13. Check that the router's WAN address is something other than 192.168.1.x
  14. Test everything out
  15. Turn off the Wi-Fi on the Gateway (Home Network > Wi-Fi)

Once you've got IP Passthrough working, then you should be able to setup Port Forwarding in your TP Link router.
