MF279 and XBOX One S Ethernet not compatible?

I just received the MF279 and its a fine enough device.  Wifi works perfectly fine with my devices.  However, when I try to use the ethernet with my XBONE S nothing.  My XBONE's ethernet  connection works perfectly fine with other internet devices, and the MF279's ethernet connection works well with my computer and TV.  Are the XBONE S and MF279's ethernet not compatible?
