My Internet stinks.

I'm thirteen and an internet junky, we have one AT&T U-Verse router, i dont know the specifics on it, but we have 4 iphones 3 computers and one ps3, i never have good connection on me ps3 and my computer, im talking 1 bar on ps3 and 2 bar on computer, and im just upstairs! can some one help me?

Hey @lightsey67 

 

It sounds like your wi-fi is not powerful enough and barely reaches your equipment upstarts. Do you guys have an additional router or just the gateway? A more powerful router or a network extender should help with this issue.

Pretty much any store that sells electronics will have routers, but the most powerful and fastest ones will be the most expensive ones of course. I personally use a router from Buffalo Technologies, I also heard good things about Asus and D-Link routers, here is a good article about the best routers today.

 

A cheaper option, and also something I personally use, is a range extender, like this one:

does it like raise ping and high upload and download mgps?

A Network Range Extender might raise ping a little bit, but not significantly. I have my XBox 360 and PS3 connecting via that Netgear extender, they work fine.

 

On the other hand, a powerful wireless router will actually reduce ping.
