NVG 589 modem issue - I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the service is not on after 3 hrs.

Hello, I was experiancing some connections issues with my NVG 589 modem/router so I did as anyone would do and reset the router. (unplugged the power cord, waited 10 seconds, plugged it back in) after 15-20 minutes of waiting the service light was blinking green(not stable as it should be) and the broadband 1,2 lights were blinking red, however the lights will go from red to green, back to red. or just have 1 be green and two will be red. Sometimes I believe the service light may even blink red. It's been 3 hours now and there has been no progress made and it being sunday at&t can not be called. I have had this problem in the past and they had just said I would be needing a new router that they are sending me one, Surprise! they never did, although they had informed me 3+ times I would be getting one. When the problem occurred in the past, it was honestly 48hrs+ before my router was fixed, it did it on its own and it just was magic I guess. I do not wish to wait 48+ hrs for my internet to yet again be active, im currently on my phones hotspot using the lovely data from at&t which I will surely not be paying for. Thank god I switched my cable service or I would be without T.V right now too. If anyone has any fix's to this issue please let me know. I have a NVG 589 modem, at&t uverse the modem has no battery just the power cable and the other cables connected to it.

Hi @AntidopeJR

Can you check all of the cables on the back of your gateway(specifically the cable going into the green colored port on the back of the gateway)? Make sure the cable isn't loose on either end. You may even want to try unplugging the cable and plugging it back in. After doing so, reboot the gateway once more. If you're still having issues with the broadband lights switching between red and green, then I would contact AT&T technical support at 800.288.2020 or live chatting with them by going to https://www.att.com/contactus/index/internet.html?tab=1 and clicking the "Live Chat" button. You may require a technician to come out and check your service.

If you have any other service related issues or this issue isn't resolved after a tech visit, then please contact theAT&T U-verse Care team.

U-verse Care can be contacted by clicking the link below(expect a response over the next few days):
