"Port Range" for Uverse router and Direct TV Genie reciever

I'm trying to configure my Uverse router so I can connect my Direct TV DVR/receiver to my router.  Does anyone know the "port range" that should be entered when configuring the Uverse router for my Direct TV Genie DVR/receiver?  Thanks

Hi @Wade1234,

I apologize about any issues you are having with your Direct TV Genie Reciever and U-verse router, but I will be glad to help. I did some research and I am thinking you are trying to gain access to the DirecTV GenieGo App. If so, you will have to open ports 8082-8083. Here is a great site I found that goes over how to do it on an NVG510.

I copied and pasted the information from the site below just in case anyone is having issues with accessing the site.

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Motorola NVG510 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

 Don't Skip This Step!

Login to the Motorola NVG510 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Motorola NVG510 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Motorola NVG510 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Motorola NVG510 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Motorola NVG510 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.254.

We do not currently know the default username and password for your router. If you know them, please use our Comments page to let us know what they are. Thanks!

Please visit our Default Router Passwords page if the username and password shown above do not work for you.

How to Port Forward DIRECTV GenieGO on the Motorola NVG510

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Motorola NVG510?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Motorola NVG510 router to save you time and hassle.

Now that you are logged in to your Motorola NVG510 router you should see the following:

Click the Firewall link near the top of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click NAT/Gaming.

Forward Ports 8082-8083 on the Motorola NVG510

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. DIRECTV GenieGO requires you to forward the following ports: 8082-8083. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Servers menu.

Click the Custom Services button near the bottom of the screen.

NVG5104

Go ahead and enter the following settings in to your router's Custom Services page.

Service Name
Global Port Range  -
Base Host Port
Protocol

When you're finished, click the Add button to save the entry.
Now the entry needs to be assigned to a device, so go ahead and click the Return to NAT/Gaming button.

Here you need to select the entry you just created and then select a device to forward it to.

Needed by Device

When you're finished, click the Add button to assign the forward to a device.

And that is it! You are done!

Hope this helps.
