Power adapter plug from Belkin BBU to New BGW210-700

I just had my gateway changed from an old 2-wire/Pace brand to a BGW210-700 but realized that the Belkin BBU barrel connector doesn't fit.  Does anyone know of the easiest way to adapt it (since we no longer have a Radio Shack).

I have a disabled person living here so it's important to have a working landline.

Getting a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) [its essentially a power strip with a battery and surge protector built in] would be the easiest.

I haven't heard of anyway to get the old Belkin BBU to connect to the BGW-210.

@192kHz I have the newer modem BGW210 but they left my old Belkin UPS, which does not fit the ac input plug. I complained to ATT several times about this. Only thing the suggested was to get an ac adapter plug. I am trying to find one. They also offered to send a Srv Tech ($99 Charge) to do this. Should I just get an new UPS unit that works with my modem ? Or can you tell me where to get an adapter plug?

That's what I have now.  Unfortunately, it doesn't provide the long backup time that the Belkin BBU did.  Yes, I could buy a bigger one but the Belkin is already in good condition and it outputs direct DC output.

Posted the same type question today as I did not find this post. Did you ever find out the plug size on the BGW210? The Belkin has a 5.5 x 2.1 mm I believe and the BGW210 looks to be a 6.3 x ?? mm after taking a quick measurement of the actual power supply.

Agree. The Belkin 12V power supply works much better than standard UPS's that convert AC to DC to charge the batteries than DC to AC to plug in the power supply/transformer cord that then converts AC back to DC again.

ATT stopped providing Belkin BBU in 2015, 9 years ago… the customer has always been responsible for replacing the battery.

The Belkin BBU was for the 2WIRE gateways (3600, 3800, 3801) and after PACE bought out 2WIRE the power supply did function on the 5268 which was released fall 2015 after ATT had already stopped providing BBU.

The Belkin did not work for the Motorola 510 (2011), 589 (2013) or the 599 (2015)… the 589 and 599 had internal slot for a small battery. Motorola owned by Google was purchased by ARRIS in 2013 which produces the BGW-210 (2017).

The Belkin BBU was intended to provide VOIP service for up to 4 hours in standby mode, less if actually used the phone.

If looking for a way to continue usage of the Belkin, one suggestion is purchase a BGW 210 power supply, cut the end of both units and splice the 210 connection to the Belkin cord being sure to follow the correct polarity.

Actually been using the Belkin on the NVG589 for probably 7 years now. So not really true it did not work on those. It also powers the full Gateway. VoIP and Internet/WiFi unlike the 7.4V internal battery for the NVG589.

I also put a 1290 SLA Battery in the Belkin instead of the 1270 as they are the same size and use a bunch of the 1290’s. So increased it from 7Ah to 9Ah.

Yes, cutting the wires is an option. But getting a simple 5.5 x 2.1 Female to 6.3 x 3.0 Male (if that is the size) adapter plug would be much simpler.

OK. For those interested. The BGW210-700 is a 6.3 x 3.0 mm plug. A simple 5.5 x 2.1 mm Female to 6.3 x 3.0 mm Male Adapter is all you need to use your Belkin DC UPS (BU3DC001-12). No cutting wires as suggested. Works great.

Even this other SmartKey 5V, 9V, 12V @ 2A, Li-Ion DC UPS works. As mentioned, DC UPS’s are much more efficient than regular 120V output UPS’s.

So what, you have a battery backup dedicated to one device whereas a proper UPS can handle multiple devices, one of which should be a wifi system to replace the pathetic wifi in these BGW gateways.  Waste of money IMHO.
