Setting Up New Modem FAIL

So our old modem broke and we received a new one, very soon I might add, and me being the technology loving guy hopped right into connecting it. Not paying attention to wires or anything, unplugged the old modem and installed the new one. The new one was up but the service light was red. So then checking the instructions and seeing that the wires needed to be in the same place I checked the device and I'm not 100% certain that I have them correct but I am pretty positive. so I turned it off, tried again but still red. Turned it off and reordered the wires. Still red. I'm lost. Instructions say the TV service should turn off during this but it's still going. I can also connect to the wifi but it says no internet available. I could use some help. Pronto please.

Do you have phone with AT&T?

If so your wall jack by the modem very well may have 2 RJ11/RJ45 plugs.

Try switching them, as you could be inserting the phone into the broadband input.

If you want take some pictures of the back of the modem and the wall jacks involved and I'll take a look.
