Upgrade to the NVG589

I'm on the 25m profile with TV and 18mb Internet.  I have a pair-bonded setup with and iNid outside and an i38HG gateway inside.  Since the day they installed U-verse three years ago we've had nothing but problems with the service.  Every time there is a thunderclap anywhere in the area the DSL loses sync and reboots.  I've already had an army of wire techs come out and replace every piece of equipment with no luck.

What is the possibility of upgrading the iNid to an NVG589.  I've read that the NVG589 is more forgiving of line noise than the iNid is and at this point i'm desperate to try anything.  Heck I'd even be willing to pay for the upgrade.  I've been dealing with this issue for three years and I'm sick of looking at a blue connection problem screen on my tv everytime it thunders.  I live in Tenneessee and it storms all the time down here.

That being said, as long as there is no thunder, the system is totally stable.  I like the service overall but I need this issue fixed.  Someone please help!

I'm well aware of the problems of DSL and interference noise.  In the last three years I've had plenty of time to read up on the subject.  What I can't accept is that this is "business as usual".  I've seen many others with similar issues where they might experience pixelation or even the occasional disconnect; but I'm getting disconnected on every single thunderclap without fail.  Something is wrong and needs to be fixed.  Even when there is no storm the gateway is reporting excessive impulse noise on both lines one and two.  Currently I'm on the 25m profile and line one is synced at 16.5m and line two is synced at 8.5m; I'm pretty sure that's not right either.  I'd have dumped U-verse a long time ago but there is no other option for Internet here.
