Wi-Fi connected to Visio TV, but built in apps say it is disconnected.

How do I get the Visio TV built in apps to work?  I have a strong Wi-Fi signal on the TV, but they won't boot up, keeps saying it's disconnected from the network.  Also tried it with Ethernet, same thing happened.

So when you go into the Vizio's Network menu it shows Connected and if you run a Test it gives you a speed?

Is this connected via Ethernet or wireless?

If the connection shows a speed, try powering off the TV and the unplug the power cord.  Hold down the power button on the TV for 5-10 seconds (yes, with the power cord UNplugged).  Then plug the power cord back in and turn on the TV and see if the apps work.

If not, the next step would be to do a factory reset on the TV.  Go to System (or Help)-> Reset & Admin -> Reset to Factory Settings.

But all of these steps are based on the fact that the TV shows connected and successfully gives you a speed.

If this is a wifi connection, you might also try powering the AT&T gateway off and back on.

From just your brief description it sounds like a Visio problem, especially if WiFi and ethernet doesn't work. Double check your tv settings and check WiFi on another device (your phone or laptop for example) in the same room. If they work ok on your WiFi then it's a Visio problem and you need to call them.

Download under both Wi-Fi and Ethernet say:  Unavailable

I have no reason why.

As I asked, do you get WiFi in the same room with other devices? If you do, call Vizio because it's their problem and not AT&T's.

Unavailable?  Should say Not Connected for Ethernet if you don't have an Ethernet cable plugged into the TV and the gateway.

What's the model # of the Vizio?

So if you go into the Network menuand select Wireless Access Points, does the network name for your AT&T gateway show up in the list?  Does anything show up in the list?  If so, what happens if you highlight your network and hit Ok on the remote, do you get a screen to input the wifi password?

We get our direct network, our network to sign in as guest, and a number of other networks I have no clue about.  We selected our direct network, went to WPS and followed the instructions to press the WPS button and it connected wirelessly, but the built in apps don't connect.

So it says it's connected to your AT&T wireless network?  Again, does it give you a speed if you hit Test Connection and say you're connected?  Doesn't sound like it.

If it doesn't, then go back in and select your network and you should get an on-screen keyboard so you can enter the password.  Get the password off the side of the AT&T box (if it's not close, take a picture of the label with your phone) and enter that using the remote.

Connection Method: Wireless

Connected to:  (my wireless network)

Signal Strength:  currently 3 bars (was 5)

Download: Not Available

That is what it gives me after Testing Connection.
