connecting wireless printer to network

I have uverse internet and I am trying to connect my wireless printer.  I go through the set up with the printer, and it has the option to access my network and password that the computer is on.  I do these steps and when it tries to connect I get a message saying "The network name (SSID) you entered manually could not be found."  I didn't enter anything manually, the computer did it all I just clicked buttons.  I then tried it manually, entering the network name and password that is on my uverse box.  I get the same message.  I used this printer previously on an att DSL network without a problem.

Hi krisrobarge,

The network name (SSID) can be found on the side of the gateway. We can provide you specific instructions for your setup if you provide us the manufacturer and model number for your printer and include what gateway you have. You can also send us your account number and contact details to ATTU-verseCare to help you find your gateway and printer information.
