Crashing Apps, Games, and Connection Error Messages on Tablet

I've had uverse internet for a short time now and seem to have problems with our iPads and kindle crashing back to the home screen. I also receive connection error messages. This crashing happens a lot when playing app games, sometimes 20 or 30 times a day. I've removed and redownloaded it a couple of times but it hasn't helped. I've used my iPad on a friends wifi and it doesn't crash. I don't remember it crashing like this before we got uverse.

I've been reading up on the nvg510 and looked at the logs and have a lot of the can't connect errors and then on the line following it it has connected to so and so.

How do I fix this?

Hello Elmogrizzly,

Your Internet connection may not be the source of trouble if your gaming apps are crashing and forcing your device to return to the home screen. Usually taking these steps will fix the issue.

Restart the App

  • Quit App
  • Launch App again

Restart your device

  • Press & Hold the Power button until your device shuts down
  • Power back on

Update the App

  • Find App in App Store
  • Select Update
  • Wait for completion

Install New App

  • Delete existing app
  • Access App store
  • Install App again

Low Memory

  • Check your device memory
  • Delete items as necessary to regain memory such as videos, images, and apps
  • Try using App again

If you suspect a problem with your Internet connection at home, we recommend changing your wireless channel settings from AUTO to a fixed channel. This will help keep your WiFi channel consistent if you are in an area that is congested with other wireless frequencies. Please see How to change your wireless channel on an NVG? for information on how to change your wireless settings.
