download speed test vs what the game actually downloads at

I am downloading a game currently and have tested my internet speed at the same time. My internet speed says I have a download speed of up to 560 mbps. But my game is downloading at around 20KB per second, the estimation to completion is north of 500 hours. Why is there such a disparity between these two numbers? Is there anything that can be done about this. Also for not my pc is wired to the router and i got the "newest" or at least a newer version of the router within the past two months. I have rest my PC and i have reset my router nothing like is working.

Glad you found the solution. Thanks for sharing in case in may help someone else in a similar situation.

As for your built-in question, you only need the account in order to post and receive notifications on updates to threads you've participated in or when someone might specifically mention you. Otherwise you can browse the forum read-only if you don't have an account. Hope that clears it up.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable for any public forum to require a person to register themselves to use it.  Certainly spambots have no concerns getting registered.  😜

Yes like you already figured out, the caching server or actual file hosting server could be getting hit hard with network traffic causing you to download things slowly. Resetting cache can help, but not always, sometimes it's just out of your control, like I said if a lot of other people are also hitting the cache server or file server everything will be slow for everyone regardless of internet speeds.

I really only posted here because I love your username. Like why do I need a separate att account and forums account?

Also I had signed in literally 5 minutes ago to post a question, why did I have to re-sign in to comment. Ngl seems like a very basic webpage with not a lot of thought put into it.

Thank you for that insight! And I couldn't agree more about the forums sign up. Make very little sense to me.

You have a separate forum account because you don't need AT&T service to be a forum member. Some people who are looking into AT&T services, or once had it, post as well.

If you didn't want an account than you were free not to post. You could have just browsed and read. Being able to post willy nilly would open up the forum to nonsense posts and the like per the nature of people on the internet.

You think I made an account just to browse and read or just to post here? Crap response from an (Edited per community guidelines).
