I have me and my wife no gamers and yet my nat is set to act of war direct action what does this...

Neither my wife nor I use any form of gaming console that I'm aware of outside of the basic stuff on the internet like Facebook and YouTube and similar schools however when I was going through my settings because my phone lines are both showing on register for some puzzle setting to act of War direct action I don't know what this means and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with why my phone is not working on the other home base and I used trying to figure out why I am set to a specific video game or is that just being listed as the first one in the list due to the fact I have never selected one

Hi @GreenRhino1,

We're happy to help! Are you seeing the video game under the firewall settings on your PC? Also, can you give us more details as to why you think this is linked to a problem with your phone?

I see the same thing. "Act of War" is listed as a hosted application under NAT/Gaming. How did it get there and doesn't it have to be there? Can I remove it?

Hi @andrewr, we are happy help.

We understand your concern with your NAT type not being at the recommended level for your game system. It would be my pleasure to assist you with this.

  • The NAT type of your router refers to how your router treats incoming data and how it is viewed in a public domain from a private translation. To be able to change your NAT type, we would need to open up ports specific to the console’s needs.
  • This will open up “conversation” between the two endpoints.

If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums!

I was seeing something similar in my router and here is what I found out. I went into the Firewall => NAT/Gaming section of my router. I saw what looked like a port forwarding rule for Act of War was setup. However, I realized I actually have no port forwarding rules in place (see the line that says "No application hosting entries have been define"). The little pull downs that are set to Act of War and (in my case) "MasterBedroom" are there so you can add that rule. The reason you see "Act of War" is because it is just the first choice in the menu. The reason I see "MasterBedroom" is that it is the first choice in that menu for me. So the screen is letting me add a port forwarding rule if I want. And obviously I can change those menu items to anything before hitting "Add". You can try it out by clicking "Add", then go to "Manage Custom Services" and you will see whatever you added, and you can then delete it.

No you didn't understand it correctly. We are all wondering why there is an entry in NAT/Gaming section of our router/gateway web management when none of us has done anything other than connecting to the internet through the router/gateway.

I was going to explain it but looks like mckennagene has said exactly what I wanted to say.

We all will see a similar entry in NAT/Gamin section when 1 or more devices connects to the modem/router to access the internet. The "Needed by Device" entry will show one of our devices. It is automatically shown but nothing will be added unless you click Add button.

tldr

It is safe to ignore that.

It's like talking to a Pre-AI bot with 5 responses.

WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER THIS VERY SERIOUS ISSUE?

2 Possible Probabilities Why ATT Refuses to Comment.

The Device is not made by them, and they have no clue.

or

That Act of War, is an ATT built in Port Forward, for data collection on Home Network

Prove I'm Wrong ATT?
