Issues with outgoing audio on Microsoft Teams using a HP laptop and AT&T fiber internet

Despite a lot of troubleshooting, the outgoing audio sounds disrupted. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? It doesn't seem to impact Webex or Zoom using a AT&T fiber internet.

Is there a setting that needs to be updated?

Please advise.

Hi There @Fotochoice,

Thank you for contacting us on AT&T Community Forums! We understand that you're having trouble with audio on Microsoft Teams. We're here to help.

Let's start by troubleshooting your internet connection. Restarting your Wi-Fi gateway can be a quick fix for many Internet issues. Here’s how:

  1. Unplug your gateway for 15 seconds.
  2. Remove and reinsert the battery, if you have an internal battery backup.
  3. Plug the gateway back in and wait for the lights to stop flashing.
  4. Check your connection to see if the problem is fixed.

We recommend using our smart home manager to check for issues with your network. It will also provide steps to troubleshoot all issues found. Have you done a speed test? If yes, what are the results?(To confirm you are getting the correct speed).

Since issue occurs from only one device (HP laptop), you may please try to troubleshoot this issue, by performing a clean boot in Windows. It will check software conflicts and eliminate it if it caused by it.

Moreover, for the Teams client app issue, it should be possible that Teams cache corrupted and causing issue, so please kindly follow the below steps to clear local Teams cache.

  • Quit Microsoft Teams if it show on the status bar.
  • Copy and paste the following location (%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams) into File Explorer.
  • Delete contents of the entire folder.
  • Restart Microsoft Teams.

Let us know if this helps!

Happy to assist!
