PlayStation 4 Broadcasting

1Mb/s upload is proving to be no speed for simultaneously broadcasting and playing multiplayer games. The PS4 offers stream quality options to fit various environments, but even at the lowest quality setting, it won't go by without the stream dropping altogether a few minutes later. I've had no luck even with no other traffic on the local network.

So will there be any hopes for an upload cap raise for those interested in streaming? Also, I'd like to raise some awareness on customers who deal with relentless Netflix traffic, including myself.

My current plan is Max, 12Mb/s down.

Thank you,

Joe

I had issues with my Xbox One konnect when on the 18Mbs plan till 45Mbps became available. In my case I have mulitple devices hardwired so 18mbps was not enough speed to use Netflix and have two computers always on. The 45Mbps power plan works great no issue and upload is not great but it works at 5mbps for uploading when needed most of  my devices are hard wired. minus a few.

Sorry, I think I used the wrong term here. I meant broadcasting.

Any sort of downstreaming such as Netflix or Twitch runs fine. But the reverse is no good. I can't get my PS4 to broadcast the game I'm playing without it falling apart on me.

@TenaciousJ728   Highest Internet you can get is 18/1M, you're on ADSL 2+. @desiguy is on

VDSL 2 and in some places can get as high as 75/5(?)M and IPTV.

ATT has provided only 40-45% of ATT users w/UverseTV and internet (45-3M) on VDSL2, 30-35% users w/ ADSL2+ internet (18M-768K) for those beyond VDSL2 range and 20-25% of users will get no DSL of any kind. ATT has plans to shut down the old ADSL system, already started this year.

Wireline expansion is pretty much kaput. Only thing being installed is Gigapower, on new fiber optic cable, in very select neighborhoods already getting Uverse wireline TV service and in MDUs systemwide. 😉

@mibrnsurg That's a bummer. But your input is appreciated.

I live in a rural area so it will be a loooooong while before this town catches up. Our neighboring towns 10-15 minutes away have benefited from fiber for a few years now. 😞 I kinda want in on that.

I have an experience with twitch which actually runs fine.
