Port Forwarding Issues

I have not been able to open ports with my router.  I have factory reset my router, nothing.  Tried allowing ports through Windows, nothing.  I really just need to troubleshoot more, I want to open port 16261 and port 16262.  I've been testing with canyouseeme.org, I don't know if that website works.

I do want to let you know to be safe this can open up risks.

To open a port for user-defined applications:

1. Go to your gateway settings.

2. Select the Firewall tab.

3. Enter the Device Access Code found on the side of your gateway.

4.Select NAT/Gaming.

5. If you get a warning message, restart your Wi-Fi gateway. Then, continue with these steps.

6. Select Continue.

7. From Service, select the application for port forwarding. If your application isn't in the list, or you're setting up port forwarding for a device:

Select Custom Services.

In Service Name, enter the name for the application or device.

8. Enter the port(s) you wish to open for Global Port Range.

9. It's recommended to create a separate service entry for each port as opposed to using a port range. In this case, the port number should be the same in the Global Port Range fields.

10. In Base Host Port, enter the port number used for the first Global Port Range section.

11. Select the appropriate Protocol from the drop-down for the application or device you're adding.

Select Add.

Repeat as needed for additional applications and devices.

12. When all applications or devices have been added, select Return to NAT/Gaming. Your new applications or devices will display in the Applications list.

13. From Needed by Device, select the device name or IP address of the device to open the port.

Select Add.

When your selections display in Hosted Applications, select Save.

I see I was guaging where we were. =]

In this case a full factory reset could allievate however it will clear the modem back to factory defualt.

I have held the reset button on the back of my router to reset it, is that the same as a full factory reset? All of my router settings were reset.

Also where is it getting stuck along the above steps if a reset is not something you are up for?

Perhaps we can address the specific cause, what step did you get caught up on?

I have done all the steps, it appears as if the ports are open.  However, when testing, they are not actually open.  I have no idea where the issue is.  I am open to doing a reset.

It most likely is security perhaps it is not since hack attempts have been common
