Hello @dwgerg,

Thank you for reaching out to us! Let's work on a fix and find out what's causing this!

It’s possible that the port used by Roblox is being blocked by your firewall or router, which could be causing the slow internet speed. Here are some steps you can take to unblock the port:

(1) Check your firewall settings: If you have a firewall installed on your computer, make sure that it’s not blocking the port used by Roblox. You can try temporarily disabling the firewall to see if that resolves the issue. If it does, you can add an exception for Roblox in your firewall settings.

(2) Check your router settings: If you’re using a router, check the settings to see if the port used by Roblox is being blocked. If the port is being blocked, you can try unblocking it by following the instructions in your router’s manual.

(3) Update your router firmware: If your router firmware is outdated, it could be causing issues with your internet speed. Check the manufacturer’s website for any available updates and install them if necessary.

We hope this information is helpful, and thanks for reaching out to AT&T Community Forums!

So, in the At&t settings for the router, under firewall/ NAT gaming, I tried to add the ports for Roblox but it came up with

"One or more of the ports within the port range conflicts with a gateway reserved port." So, I was wondering how to fix this issue

Hello @dwgerg, thank you for writing back to us. We got you and let's get the help you need.

  • AT&T blocks certain ports to prevent potential security risks, such as DDoS attacks.
  • The error message you received indicates that the port range you’re trying to forward overlaps with these reserved ports.

We recommend that you follow the steps below:

(1) Start with the port range specified by Roblox.
(2) Trim it down to a smaller range that doesn’t overlap with reserved ports.

Update Port Forwarding Settings:

  • Access your AT&T router’s settings (usually via a web interface).
  • Navigate to the port forwarding section.
  • Enter the smaller port range you’ve chosen.
  • Save the settings.

 Application-Specific Settings:

  • Check if Roblox allows you to specify custom ports within its settings.
  • If so, use the smaller port range there as well.

Here is more information on the Ports that we block on our end for Port Forwarding. There are some Ports that are blocked on our end because if they are opened they can cause DDOS attacks and other major problems on your AT&T gateway.

Let us know how it goes! Thank you for contacting the AT&T Community Forums.

So, how would I be able to trim down the Roblox port for it not to overlap with the reserved ports. And, is there any possibility that I could be granted the option to remove the restriction for the port of Roblox?

Whoa, slow down.  Roblox is a server based online game and doesn’t need any of this discussion.

Please post a link where instructions are given by Roblox to do port forwarding.
