Trying To Change Security Key
Can anyone please help me?ihave been trying and trying tochange the security Key on my uverse internet modemNVG510.I have followed all the directions I have found even through the customer forums.I tried chatting with a rep last night.He just sent me info link to my email,the exact linkI asked him not to send.I enter my access code fine and go to the page with my ssid andsecurity key info.For someunknownreason I can not click on the securitykey and be allowed to change anything! The area is grayed whiv
ch seems as though I should be able to click and change.I can click on ssid and change it,I believe.It is the security key I need to change.Does anyone know of a problem with this?Customer service hS BEEN NO HELP.iT SEEMS TO BE A WASTE OF TIME CALLING OR CHATTING.Sorrycaps by accident.I am using a new laptop with windows 8.1.Is it just me and 8.1?Can someone try to go into their accoun and seeif itresponds correctly.Oh yeah,it also will let me change the modems access code.I want to change security key.Thank you, i am exhausted with this.New customer who has tried for days.

Are you saying you cannot click on it because it's grayed out?
You must first change the "Security" setting from WPA - Default Key to WPA - PSK I believe.
Then it should allow you to change the wireless password. I don't have a NVG510 so I cannot confirm.

I do not have a NVG510. On my RG the Network Key is listed on the home page, but it looks like that is not where it is changed. On the wireless page, there is a button for use the default & another for a custom key with a space to enter the custom key.

It is a nice idea to change the network security key in a while and you can treat it as password also.
your network security key is the key/password/passphrase used to add new devices to your network. It is, for all intents and purposes, a “password” to join your network.
